comments = I feel very strongly after loosing 3 members of our support group in Fla. that the companies,FDA, and surgeons
they implanted these toxic devices should be held accountable for murder. I feel there is no difference between taking a
loaded gun and killing them then the tragedy we are forced to live with daily. Unfortunately I am to ill to continue to run
the support groups and fight with the FDA but would love to correspond with other silicone sisters in the country. I am
enclosing my e-mail address so we can communicate. I also am on chemo therapy for lupus,scleroderma and am having some
fairly good results. I also have been taking propulsid and prilosec with excellant results on the gi tract. I have found
absolutely no pain medication that works and gave up trying. I am willing to sure all the info I have obtained over the
years and on various medications that I have tried and the results. All we can do is hope and pray that someone will

comments = I think that implants can be safe if made from saline. My mother had Dow silicone implants since 1969 and had
them removed 1 year ago due to pain and disfiguration and suspicion of cancer. When the surgeon went in to remove her
breasts, both implants had been torn and ruptured.Her health has been deteriorating for many years, but doctors now won't
admit or deny that it has been caused by her ruptured implants. I feel that 90% of her illnesses and pain have been caused
by this, but we have not been able to find a doctor that deals with these problems. If anyone out there has any
suggestions, please let me know. I hope that women will take a long hard look at the issues involved here before altering
their breast, even if it is medically necessary.

comments = I am on my fifth implant in my left breast as a result of birth defects. I had my first implant at the age of
16, thinking then that I would finally be normal. A very important thing to be when you'r 16. I have of course had
subsequent implants as my right breast has grown. I am now 33 and its too late for me. I want to have my implant
explanted but cannot afford the surgery, which my insurance carrier will not pay for even though the original surgery was

Trust Network recent page they published in major new papers was
an excellent idea. Most are ignorant to the harm of silicone
and think the victims are $$ hungry. I think it would be quite
informative to the everyone of another page add was done listing
the toxic chemicals in silicone implants. When I tell others of
these contents they are amazed. Some have commented that they are surprised these women are not dead from these chemicals.

think it would open everyone's eyes if they new what these chemicals were. Also, if Dow states silicone does not cause

comments = I sit here and read others comments on how implants have destroyed their lives, and, my blood boils because I
can relate. Plastic surgeons Thomas Cronin, MD, and Frank Gerow, MD, of Houston developed the silicone breast implant in
1962. I was implanted at 18 years of age in April 1966. I was probably one of the first to be implanted. I already had
one son and my health was excellent pre-implantation. After implantation it was only a matter of a few years before I
became symptomatic. One year after implantation, a car rear-ended me smashing the steering wheel into my chest while I was
nine months pregnant. It's probably then that I ruptured. Nobody told me of any health risks before, during or after
implantation. I was in/out of hospitals with various symptoms and the connection was finally made in 1992. Too bad it
wasn't sooner because I have 3 silicone-affected daughters now. I live in chronic pain and know I have been robbed of my
life because of my decision to be implanted. I will always carry the guilt of having to watch my daughters live with their
illnesses and know that my wrong decision is responsible for their pain. I was explanted in 1994 but by then it was too
late for any hope of recovery because I had free silicone all over and giant foreign cells invading my body. I wish I
could go back in time too. I will be 50 in January and feel like I am 100 years old. I have Fibromyalgia, Polyneuropathy,
and, atypical lupus. My daughters illnesses are too lengthy to mention. We all have chronic fatique syndrome and a
multitude of symptoms. Why? Why was I so stupid? Why did Dow's corporate greed have to take precedence over my life?

comments = I had my breast augmentation over 10 years ago. ( I can't believe its been that long.) I still feel that it was
one of the best decisions that I've ever made in my life. I am a 36 year old married, mother of two teenagers. I was
completely flat chested. 5'10" and 130 pounds. It had always been hard to find clothes that fit and I never felt very
feminine. I had always joked that when I won the lottery I would get a "boob job". My husband basically had no opinion one
way or another. But it was obvious to him that I was very self conscious about it and I poked fun at myself often. When we
sold some property and had some extra cash he asked me what would do with it if I could choose anything in the world and I
replied, "Buy some Boobs!" So I did. They're silicone filled. I'm a prefect fit in a 36C. Clothes fit great. Some of my
personal feelings and observations after a decade of living with these things and a lot of media hype:
1. I would do it again if given a choice. (but this time I would go completely out instead of just under a local and some
heavy duty drugs. Being awake through the surgery used a lot of my energy and you need all the energy and strength you have
to recover after the surgery. you don't want to start out tired.)
2. I realize that success stories don't make good TV talk shows but I really wish Jenny Jones would seek some sort of
therapy and leave us alone.
3. Like I said, it was one of the best choices I've made. I had to really ask myself why I thought it was so important to
me. If a woman thinks that her husband will love her more, she is mistaken. My husband has always loved me a treats me
like a princess but I never felt very pretty. I had a very passive attitude towards sex because I didn't feel sexy. I
lacked self confidence in all areas of my life. It's not like I'm some bombshell now but I feel pretty. I feel sexy so I
have to say "yes" that it affected my marriage in a very possitive way. Health wise, I've had no complications other than
some capsulation at first. And they are still a little firmer than what I would like for them to be but I'm not
complaining.
4. Do they look real? Heck no!! They look beautiful. They don't sag or hang. They're perky and pretty. Real Boobs
aren't all that pretty in my opinion.
5. I'm not denying that there are some legitimate horror stories about implants. But they don't apply to all implant cases.
I'm sure that there are a lot of traumatic even deadly stories about root canals or people who have died from a polio
vaccines but that doesn't apply to all cases.
6. my advise to someone comtemplating augmentation surgery is to not make a hasty decision. Take your time, research you
facts, research your doctor, ask lots of questions and listen openly to the answers, ask yourself why this is so important
to you and make an educated decision. Good Luck

Hi, I am 19 years old right now and have already begun to
consider breast implants for the future. I read every comment
writtten. I found one or 2 positive ones. The rest were filled
with pain and horror. Society does put a strain on us, but my
strain comes from within myself only and my low self-esteem.
I am 19 years old and I can still wear a training bra. I am
literally completely flat. Not just small, flat, I have nothing.
I look like a piece of flat wood in a bathing suit which is why
I never go to the beach or the pool or wear a bathing suit. Right
now I bought those "magic Form" breasts which you slip under
your bra (makes me look like a 34B). NOw what happens when
I want to be with a man, I feel so insecure.
Is it possible for my breast to still grow after 19 to a decent
size? I don't want to be huge or even big. If I were a real 34B
without "magic form" or anything else, I'd be happy. But I want
to one day wear a bathing suit for once. I know there a risks
involved, I read so much on it. I wonder is there's any
alternative to breast implants, anything else that isn't so
fatal. For any doctors out there, is there still the possibiity
of my breast increasing, even to make it to an A or B or something.
Maybe after child birth, but after my insecurity, I'd conceal
my non-existent breasts from my husband until after child
birth. I must sound pathetic, if anyone has any advice for me
or is able to answer any of my questions please respond to

comments = My mother died because of complications related to her silicone implant. She was a very attractive and lively
person until about five years ago, that is when they discovered that her implant was gone. Yes, it was totally gone. All
but about 3cc had been absorbed into her fragile body. What really hurts, we found out that there was not a reason for her
having her breast removed. The doctor? found a lump and suggested that she may have cancer, he never had it checked before
he suggested that she have it(breast) removed. My mother was not the most intelectual person and she trusted the doctor. He
did not hesitate to suggest the newest product from DOW, the silicone implant. She fell for the sales pitch and had it
installed. If we would have had any indication that the product had not been properly tested, it would not have been
installed. The lump was benign.
When she had the implant removed, the doctor said it appeared that it had leaked from day one. My mom always said that she
would not live long enough to see justice served and she was right. The suffering this lady endured over the last two years
was unbearable. It was painfull watching her disintergrate from a person that loved life to a person that wished death
would come quickly. DOW is a gaint and they have stomped on a lot of little people, they killed a lot of little people like
my mother. Will they ever pay for this? No they can't bring my 56 year old mother back, but they could a least admitt their
mistake.
If anyone is considering an implant, please look at all opitions. It could mean life or death.

comments = I was seriously thinking of getting some implants in November
but I decided to do some research firsrt, I knew there were some risks with the implants but never thougt they were that
serious and threating. I have a few friends that have gotten them done, with no side effects or problems so I thought why
not. Thank GOD! I decided to do some research and also take a look at some horrifing pictures, thats all I needed to change
my mind. I really wanted to improve my apperance by enlarging my breast,but It's not worth it. My opinion on breast
implants is don't do it be content with what God gave you, and if you still aren't at least wait untill they come up with
something truly 100% safe,and don't believe anything you here from cosmetic surgeons do your own research, and then think
some more.

80' and early 90's I was very active in the war. I sent my
photos to USA Today and they printed them and caused a big uproar. Went to my N Y State elected offical and we got a law
passed for the booklet before surgery then FDA halted.
Have not been as active or active at all it was "getting to me" I did not or do I think I can make a difference today. I'm

comments = I think breast augmentations provide women with a choice. I my self do not have an opinion on the moral or
ethical issues at hand, but I do dislike the information you put forth.
I belive your website was one sided, under informed, and bordered on propoganda. I think in complex issues such as this we
need to take an objective stance and concider the pros and cons.
I would also like to know who came up with this "new deaseas" theory on illness. Scince I am not a plastic surgen, all I
know about implants is what I have read in the medical jornals.
For the most part I ignore the media, they after all are just trying to sell air time. But from what I've seen, silicone
seems reasonably safe and there have been no positive links made.
I think I'll take Harvard and Mayo's word over this sites until I see some authenticated studies. This site could provide
valuable information on alternitives to breast implants if only it were

comments = I have been researching the possibility of getting these for 25 years (since my mother had them).
I have trouble believing that autoimmune disease cannot be caused by other factors especially in view of the fact that we
live in a very toxic world! My mother, to my knowledge, did not have any problems with her silicone implants aside from
scar formation.
She did have arthritis but so did her mother and siblings in later life. (implanted at 50 yrs of age and deceased at 79!).
I have several friends with environmental illness/autoimmune suppression and none of them have implants of any kind.
Where is the (unemotional) proof that autoimmune illness is caused by any particular product?
I have been small chested for 35 years and I cannot begin to tell you how I have suffered at the hands of insensitive
individuals and society.
This emotional pain caused by societies disdain of small busted women should not be downplayed - it is real and affects
self esteem whether of not we think it "should" exist - the fact is it does.
If I had a facial deformity, or other apparent physical flaw, I would not hesitate to have it repaired. Why is this
particular deficiency (society DOES consider it a deficiency) be different?

silicone, if punctured, would heal itself and not leak. I tried to call, multiple times, to register with the class action

The inmplants were Dow Corning, the first one ruptured in 1992, it leaked out of the capsule and into the surrounding
tissues, it was removed and replaced. the second one ruptured in 1993, it was also removed and replaced.
One of the replacements ruptured in 1995 I had both implants removed at that time. I am now suffering from painful joints
